How is a dental implant inserted?

  • First appointment - consultation: we will first take a close look at your teeth and discuss where the implant will be placed. We'll also take 3D X-rays (cbct) so that we can plan everything accurately.
  • Implant placement: an experienced oral surgeon will place the implant in your jawbone. You'll be given an anaesthetic beforehand, so you won't feel any pain during the procedure, just a little pressure.
  • Recovery time and care: after the operation, we will give you detailed advice on how to look after the wound. This will help to ensure that the implant will settle nicely into the bone. Healing takes a few months.
  • Making the final tooth: Once everything has healed properly, an impression is taken and a new tooth (crown or bridge) is made and attached to the implant.
  • New smile, new life: Once the procedure is complete, you can bite, speak, and smile as if it were your own tooth!
