How is bone grafting and sinus lifting done?

First, detailed imaging tests (such as CT scans) are done to see exactly how much bone is needed and where.
The procedure is completely painless and is performed under local anaesthesia.
The surgeon carefully places the bone graft material into the prepared area - this can be your own bone, artificial material or a combination of both.
The bone substitute is placed under the raised sinus at the back of the upper jawbone to create enough space for the implant.
The area is closed with stitches, followed by a healing period, usually 4-6 months.
Once the graft has fully healed and integrated with the surrounding bone, the implant can be placed in the reinforced bone.
